Women's Leadership Professional Network

WLPN_D&I.jpg

Ogilvy’s Women’s Leadership Professional Network, WLPN, encourages an inclusive environment to learn, question, grow and discover. As Chair, I work with a board to curate meaningful and engaging opportunties for all people at Ogilvy Chicago.

WLPN SELF-DEFENSE CLASS & COCKTAILS
In October we attended a class at Krav Maga. The class was inspired by one of our deaf co-workers. As the days are getting shorter and we are all feeling more vulnerable in general, we thought this would be an empowering get-together.

tom alexander - a man’s perspective on the “me too” movement, and how to move forward together

Tom Alexander, previous CCO of 1871, is an advocate for hiring with the lens of diversity & inclusion. For our panel, Tom’s perspective gathered a large crowd of both men and women, and fostered a great conversation.

ashley nelson:mindfulness as your superpower

Ashley came in to talk about the science behind mindfulness and then taught us some meditations that we can use during the day to take a break and breathe. This was one of our most popular panels.

ogilvy wlpn monthly e-newsletter

Wlpn board member, Iris Dew, curates a monthly newsletter for us. After it’s sent out each month, we regroup to anyone who is free for an open discussion on any of the topics.

flywheel charity event

Building the Ogilvy community usually happens over drinks or working out. We combined both for this event, raising money to send 2 girls from Off the Street Club to summer camp.

LOGAN JENSON |CONSTELLATION: RETHINK WHO’S DRINKING

Logan and I worked together for a few years on the Corona Light business. When CL changed their target to women, it was groundbreaking for the industry. When a topic is relevant to the WLPN, we like to bring in our clients to speak on a panel. It’s good for people who don’t work on the brand to get exposed to different types of business. And often, we find our clients appreciate the opportunity to come speak as well.

Women Helping women. period.

Women get their period. Period. And we’re busy people who sometimes don’t have time to eat or run out and get a tampon. We partnered with Ogilvy and Aunt Flo to bring free products into our bathrooms.

international women’s day: ogilvy

Hands down my favorite WLPN activity. Amy Gozalka and Sam Gorelik designed and wrote these fun Insta posts for IWD that were templates. As a fundraiser for the Off the Street Club, the WLPN sold these squares. Colleagues could buy a square for a women that they worked with and show how much they appreciated them. The outpouring of love and accreditation was amazing.
